Terms of Use

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By downloading, accessing, or using Derma Pal, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Derma Pal. If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you.

2. Skincare and AI guidance

Routines, visible-appearance observations, product-category suggestions, assistant responses, and progress summaries are general educational information. Automated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for you.

Do not use Derma Pal for emergencies or to diagnose a condition. Stop using a product and seek professional care if you experience a severe or persistent reaction. Follow instructions from your clinician and product manufacturers over any conflicting app guidance.

3. Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting your device and credentials, and activity occurring through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may delete your account through the app. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are sold through Apple StoreKit. Prices are shown in your local App Store storefront before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your Apple account at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subject to Apple's rules.

Apple processes payments, cancellations, and eligible refund requests. Deleting Derma Pal or deleting your Derma Pal account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Features and plan pricing may change as permitted by law and App Store rules.

5. Your photos and other content

You retain ownership of photos, questions, and other content you submit. You grant Derma Pal a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to provide, secure, and improve the features you request.

You must have the right to submit the content and must not upload another person's photo or sensitive information without appropriate permission. Photo comparisons can vary with lighting, camera, angle, expression, and other conditions.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Derma Pal for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive activity.
• Upload content that infringes rights, violates privacy, or contains malware.
• Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, subscription checks, or security controls.
• Probe, scrape, reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the service except where applicable law expressly permits.
• Present Derma Pal output as a professional diagnosis or use it to make decisions about another person without their informed participation.

7. App license and intellectual property

Derma Pal grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. The app, website, branding, software, and original content remain owned by Derma Pal or its licensors.

The Apple Standard EULA also applies to the iOS app. If these Terms conflict with non-waivable App Store terms or consumer rights, those requirements control.

8. Third-party services

Derma Pal relies on services such as Apple, authentication providers, hosting, storage, email delivery, and AI infrastructure. Their services may have separate terms and may occasionally be unavailable. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

9. Availability, warranties, and liability

Derma Pal is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every output will be accurate or achieve a particular skincare result.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Derma Pal is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable consumer protections.

10. Changes and termination

We may update Derma Pal and these Terms. The effective date above identifies the latest revision. If a material change requires notice or consent, we will provide it through an appropriate channel. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.
